Training Needs
Before starting the pilgrimage, you should train physically to adapt to trekking, namely to the stages and the entire duration of the pilgrimage. Stages longer than 25 km are usually exhausting, and if physical preparation is not adequate, there can be muscular pain.
Several days before you start the way you can take short walks and then gradually increase their length until you feel comfortable with walks of between 20 to 30 km, with the footwear you will wear. During your physical preparation, try to keep your feet in good condition, cut and file your nails and lubricate the sole and instep well with Vaseline or moisturising cream.
